Fishing at Caesar Creek State Park

Caesar Creek Lake offers many opportunities for anglers. The lake has over forty miles of shoreline with many small and large coves, standing trees, and stump areas. The average lake depth ranges from twenty feet at the north end of the lake to over 100 feet on the south end near the dam. This varied lake provides perfect habitat for many species of fish of interest to anglers. These include Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass, White Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and Carp. In addition, Saugeye and Muskellunge are stocked annually.

There are numerous places to fish from the shore on the lake. Some of the more convenient areas are at the dead end of Ward Rd., the fishing platform near the Park Office and under the St. Rt. 73 bridge. Visit the Caesar Creek Young Angler's Pond with fishing exclusively for kids under 16 years of age.

Requirements

A valid Ohio Fishing License is required to fish in Ohio waters. This includes frogs and turtles. The person fishing must carry their license while fishing. Children under the age of 16 and certain other people are not required to have a license.
