Programs, Hikes, and Events

Thu - Sun: Open House
Join us for on-going guided tours or self-guided tours around the Nature Center. Learn about the park and wildlife in Ohio.
Thursday, 1PM - 2PM: Archery
Meet at the Nature Center for Archery. Equipment and instruction provided.
Friday, 1PM - 2PM: Birds of Prey
Meet at the Nature Center. See our live raptor wildlife ambassadors up-close. Learn about birds you may see in the park. Bring a chair or join us at the picnic tables.
Saturday, 1PM - 3PM: Guided Hike
Meet at the Nature Center for a three-mile guided hike to the Swinging Bridge. Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Easy/Moderate hike. Bring water.
Saturday, August 7
Canoe and Kayak Wildlife Excursion, 9am-11am. Meet at the Yak Shack near the Campground Boat Ramp. Learn the basics of canoeing and kayaking. Wear water shoes (not flip-flops) and clothes that can get wet. Length of excursions will vary. Equipment and instruction will be provided. Equipment is limited. First come, first serve. Weather dependent.
Stand-Up Paddle Board, 12:30pm-1:30pm. Meet at the Yak Shack near the Campground Boat Ramp. Learn the basics of paddle boarding. Wear water shoes (not flip-flops) and clothes that can get wet. Join us for a quick paddle out to 'Sunset Island'. Equipment and instruction will be provided. Equipment is limited. First come, first serve. Weather dependent.
Saturday, August 28

Every Thursday in August
Guided Wildlife Discovery Hike, 1pm-3pm. Meet at the Nature Center. Learn about our new DETOUR app for trails. Join us for an easy hike three miles or less. Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Trails can be muddy. Bring water. Learn about park history, wildlife, trees, and wildflowers along the way.
Every Friday in August
Hobie Cat Sailing Kayaks, 10am-12pm. Meet at the North Pool Boat Ramp, Hand Launch. Learn the basics of kayak sailing. Equipment and Instruction provided. Wear clothes that can get wet and water shoes (no flip-flops). Bring water. Boats are limited. First come, first serve. Weather dependent.
Fishing, 1pm-2pm. Meet at the Nature Center. Learn the basics of fishing; how to cast, how to rig your pole, knot tying, and fish habitat. We will not be fishing during this program, but we will show you a few good places to go!
